Best crypto app in Germany: app, features, and support compared
All five exchanges have iOS and Android apps in Germany. What differs is what the app can do and who answers when something breaks.

Yes: Coinbase, Kraken, Bybit, OKX, and KuCoin all run apps for iOS and Android in Germany†††††. So "does it have an app" is not a useful question anymore. What splits them is what you can do once you're inside the app, and who picks up when something goes wrong.
If you landed here searching "beste krypto app" or doing your own krypto app vergleich, this is the short version: check features and support, not just the app icon.
Do all five exchanges have an app in Germany?
Every exchange on this list builds a native app for both operating systems.
| Exchange | iOS | Android | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coinbase | Yes | Yes | † |
| Kraken | Yes | Yes | † |
| Bybit | Yes | Yes | † |
| OKX | Yes | Yes | † |
| KuCoin | Yes | Yes | † |
We don't have a verified App Store or Google Play rating for any of the five. Check the current rating yourself before you download, we won't guess a number we can't source.
All five are on our list of exchanges available to German users, checked against public sources, last checked 2026-09-12. Confirm the current status on ESMA's MiCA register or BaFin's site before you deposit. For the broader exchange comparison, not just the app, see our guide to the best crypto exchanges in Germany.
What matters more than having an app?
Two things: what the app lets you trade, and what happens when it breaks late on a Sunday night.
Features inside the app
| Exchange | Spot | Futures | Margin | Staking | Copy trading | P2P |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coinbase | Yes | No | No | Yes | No | No |
| Kraken | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| Bybit | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| OKX | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| KuCoin | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | Yes |
Staking is in all five apps. Futures and copy trading are not: Coinbase skips both†, and Kraken skips copy trading†.
Support when something goes wrong
| Exchange | Channels | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| Coinbase | Email, ticket, help center | 24/7† |
| Kraken | Help center, ticket | 24/7† |
| Bybit | Help center, ticket | 24/7† |
| OKX | Help center, live chat | 24/7† |
| KuCoin | Help center, ticket | 24/7† |
OKX is the only one of the five with live chat†. The other four route you through a ticket or a help center article first, even though each claims round-the-clock coverage††††. If a deposit gets stuck mid-transfer, waiting on a ticket queue is what costs you time.
Which app fits your needs? (best crypto app for beginners Germany)
There is no single "best" app for everyone. It depends on what you actually do with it.
New to crypto. Coinbase keeps the app to spot trading and staking, with 24/7 support across email, ticket, and help center††. It has fewer buttons and fewer ways to make an expensive mistake while you're still learning. Read more on Coinbase.
Ready to try Coinbase?
Please check local regulations before signing up.
Futures and copy trading. Bybit and OKX each support futures, margin, and copy trading in the app††. OKX adds live chat on top, which matters if you're trading a leveraged position and need an answer fast, not a ticket queue†. See OKX.

Staking in the app. Coinbase, Kraken, Bybit, OKX, and KuCoin all offer staking†††††. Staking alone won't tell you which app to pick, since all five offer it. Compare fees and lock-up terms on the app itself before you commit funds.
Need help right now. OKX again, because it's the only app here with live chat as a support channel†. The rest ask you to open a ticket and wait.
No app removes the basic risks of holding crypto. Having live chat or a clean interface does not make an exchange "safe," it makes support faster. Treat it as one factor among several, not the deciding one.
What mistakes do people make picking a crypto app?
The most common mistake isn't lack of information, it's picking the wrong criteria to decide on. People choose an app because an ad looked good or the interface felt smooth, then skip the questions that actually protect their money: what's the fee, what's the support like, is this exchange even set up to serve German users .
A quick fee check, done before you download anything, catches more than a glossy screenshot ever will. Say you trade €500 in spot on OKX at its 0.1% taker fee: that's €0.50†. The same €500 trade on Coinbase, at a taker fee that can run up to 0.6%, could cost up to €3.00†. Six times the cost, same trade size. Run your own numbers on the fee calculator before you pick an app based on looks.
Maker fees move too. A €1,000 limit order on Kraken's regular tier sits at 0.4% maker, or €4†. The same order on Bybit's regular tier sits at 0.1%, or €1†. That's a real gap, and it shows up every time you trade, not just once.
Other mistakes worth naming:
- Assuming "it has an app" means "it's legal for me in Germany." Check MiCA status yourself, don't take the app store listing as proof.
- Downloading on impulse instead of writing down what you need first. If you write three lines, fee, support, and the one feature you'll actually use, before you open the app store, you avoid most ad-driven downloads .
- Picking by onboarding screens. A smooth sign-up flow says nothing about withdrawal speed or support quality six months in.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a different app for Germany? No. These five run one global app, not a separate German version. Make sure your account region and payment settings match Germany or the EU where the app asks, and confirm MiCA status before you deposit, as covered above.
Is the mobile app as safe as the website? Both run on the same account and the same identity checks: all five require KYC verification†††††. We don't have a verified figure comparing app-specific security incidents to website ones, so we won't claim one is safer. Turn on two-factor authentication on whichever one you use.
Can I trade futures from the app? On Kraken, Bybit, OKX, and KuCoin, yes††††. Coinbase's app does not offer futures†.
Which app has live chat support? Only OKX, among these five, lists live chat as a support channel†. The other four use help center articles and tickets.
