Binance KYC verification in Turkey: steps, time, and limits

Binance identity verification (binance hesap doğrulama) in Turkey runs on the same six-step process Binance uses everywhere. You pick your country and document type, upload an ID, do a quick face scan, then wait for Binance to check it. Binance says review usually finishes within 48 hours, though some cases take longer†. That timing isn't Turkey-specific. It's the figure Binance publishes for every country.

What does Binance identity verification (KYC) actually require?

Binance requires KYC on every account, no exceptions†. You'll need a government ID and a working camera for the face scan. If you haven't installed the app yet, our guide to the Binance app in Turkey covers that first step.

The core requirement is simple: your document and your personal details have to match. Mismatched names, expired IDs, or blurry photos stall the review before a human even looks at it.

How does the verification process work, step by step?

Binance's own support page lays out six steps†:

  1. Choose your country of residence, the country that issued your ID, and the document type.
  2. Upload your ID from your device, or scan a QR code to finish on your phone. Which option you get depends on your country.
  3. Upload the front and back of your ID card.
  4. Complete a liveness check. This is a short face scan, separate from the ID upload.
  5. Confirm your personal information matches your ID exactly. You cannot edit this after you confirm it.
  6. Submit everything for Binance to review.

No step beyond these six is listed on Binance's page. If an app screen asks for something else, treat it as a one-off request, not a standard step.

How long does binance kimlik doğrulama (identity verification) take?

Binance's help page states it plainly: "Submitted documents are usually reviewed within 48 hours. However, it may take longer in some particular cases"†. That's the whole published figure.

Binance does not list a separate number for Turkey. Treat 48 hours as a general guide, not a promise tied to your location.

What happens if you don't complete verification?

An unverified or still-pending account gets switched to Withdraw Only†. In that state you can:

  • Withdraw funds
  • Cancel open orders
  • Close positions
  • Handle redemptions

You can't deposit new funds or open new trades until verification clears†.

Is this process different for Turkey?

The steps and the 48-hour estimate are global. Binance's documentation doesn't carve out a separate process for Turkey†.

What is Turkey-specific is regulatory status, not the KYC mechanics. Binance's Turkish entity, Binance Turkey Kripto Varlık Alım Satım Platformu AŞ, appears on the Capital Markets Board's (SPK) list of active crypto asset service providers, listed as entity 4 of 49†. SPK itself states that appearing on this list is not confirmation of a granted license†. Law No. 7518 (2024) brought crypto asset service providers under the Capital Markets Board (SPK/CMB); platforms serving Turkish users also fall under MASAK AML supervision.

One more thing before you start: Binance disclosed a security incident on October 30, 2026 and says it will cover user losses†. Withdrawals have been reopening in stages since then, so check our Binance incident tracker for the current status before opening or funding a Binance account.

What if you want a verified backup account ready (Bybit, OKX)?

KYC itself has nothing to do with the incident. Every serious exchange requires it. Bybit and OKX both require identity verification too††. If you'd rather not sit and wait on one exchange while an incident plays out, getting a second account verified in parallel is a reasonable move.

Both also sit on Turkey's SPK list: Bybit Kripto Varlık Alım Satım Platformu AŞ at entity 10†, and OKX TR Kripto Varlık Alım Satım Platformu AŞ at entity 36†. Same disclaimer SPK applies to all three: being listed is not a license confirmation†.

OKX also runs a Turkish-language site, tr.okx.com, with direct lira deposits and withdrawals, and a statement that it follows identity verification rules set by Turkish authorities†. That page doesn't mention SPK by name†.

Common mistakes

There are two ways to sit through a 48-hour review. One is active: you checked that your name, country, and document matched before you hit submit, so you already know there's nothing left to do. The other is passive: you reopen the app every couple of hours, resubmit the same documents, or file several tickets because you're anxious. Neither speeds up Binance's review. Repeated resubmissions just add noise to your file .

Other mistakes people make:

  • Picking a document-issuing country that doesn't match the ID in hand. Fix this before you submit, not after.
  • Writing your name in a script Binance's system can't match to a Latin-alphabet ID. Use the spelling on your passport if your local ID uses a different script.
  • Submitting a blurry or cropped photo. A failed scan just restarts the clock.
  • Confirming details without double-checking spelling. You can't edit this step once you confirm it†.

FAQ

Can I use Binance in Turkey without finishing KYC?

Only in a limited way. An unverified or pending account is restricted to Withdraw Only, so deposits and trading stay locked until verification clears†.

Why does Binance ask for a face scan?

That's the liveness check step. It confirms the person submitting the application matches the ID photo†.

Can I fix a mistake after I confirm my details?

No. Binance's page states personal information can't be edited once you confirm it matches your ID†.

Is Bybit or OKX verification faster than Binance's?

Not confirmed in our source. Binance publishes a 48-hour review estimate; we found no matching published figure for Bybit or OKX.
