What happened with the XLV, EIDO and EWZS listing on OKX?

OKX's own help center says the exchange will turn on perpetual futures for XLV, EIDO and EWZS. These contracts are settled in USDT. The update applies to the web interface, the app, and the API at the same time. OKX tells users to check whether the token or product is available in their region inside the app before trading.

The listing schedule is staggered by fifteen minutes between each token:

Token Trading opens (UTC)
XLV/USDT perpetual 09:00, Nov 6, 2026
EIDO/USDT perpetual 09:15, Nov 6, 2026
EWZS/USDT perpetual 09:30, Nov 6, 2026

The contract mechanics are the same across all three:

Feature Detail
Settlement currency USDT
Funding fee settlement interval Every 8 hours
Funding rate clamp Average premium index plus clamp, capped at 1.00% and floored at -1.00%
If the cap or floor is hit Settlement switches to hourly until the rate normalizes
Trading hours 24/7

OKX did not publish a separate trading fee for these three perpetual contracts in the announcement. The exchange's published spot trading fees are 0.08% for makers and 0.10% for takers at the lowest VIP0 tier††. Those numbers come from a different OKX fee notice. They are not confirmed to apply to XLV, EIDO or EWZS futures specifically. Check the fee schedule on the contract page before you open a position.

What does this listing mean for users in the US, UK, Canada and Australia?

OKX's regional rules differ by country. A new listing does not automatically mean every user can trade it.

United States. OKX is not banned in the US. OKX Inc. holds a FinCEN money-services-business registration and state money-transmitter licenses in most states†. US territories remain blocked. The announcement does not mention a US carve-out for these three tokens, so the general app availability check applies.

United Kingdom. No country-specific impact found. OKX's published regulation facts cover the European Economic Area through a Malta MiCA license and the US market separately†. Nothing in the Knowledge Graph or the announcement addresses UK access for these contracts. UK users should confirm availability directly in the app.

Canada. Canada is on OKX's blocked-country list†. The announcement does not override country-level blocks. Canadian users should not expect to trade these contracts through OKX's main platform regardless of this listing.

Australia. No country-specific impact found in the Knowledge Graph for futures access. Australian users should rely on the in-app region check OKX points to in the announcement.

What should you check before this listing affects your account?

  1. Open the OKX app and look for XLV, EIDO or EWZS perpetual futures under your account's product list, since availability is region-based.
  2. Read OKX's stock perpetual futures documentation, linked from the announcement, before placing any order.
  3. Confirm your account has completed the identity verification OKX requires for trading access†.
  4. Check the current fee for the specific contract on the trading screen rather than assuming the spot fee applies††.
  5. Note the 8-hour funding settlement cycle, and the hourly switch if the funding rate hits its cap or floor. This changes how often you pay or receive funding.
  6. If you already hold a balance on OKX, review OKX's proof-of-reserves page to understand how the exchange reports its holdings†.

Use the fee calculator to work out the cost of a trade before you place it. A $1,000 position charged at the 0.10% taker rate† costs $1 in trading fees alone, before any funding payments.

What mistakes should you avoid with this OKX listing?

Don't assume the listing applies to your account just because OKX announced it globally. Region restrictions are checked inside the app, not in the announcement text.

Don't apply OKX's general spot fee to these new contracts without checking the contract page first. The 0.08%/0.10% figures†† come from a separate spot fee notice, not from this listing.

Don't confuse the funding fee settlement interval with a trading fee. Funding is paid between traders holding opposite positions, every 8 hours under normal conditions. It switches to hourly only if the rate hits its cap or floor.

Don't treat a new listing as a signal to trade. This article reports what OKX announced. It does not recommend opening a position in XLV, EIDO or EWZS.

FAQ

Is XLV a cryptocurrency?

The announcement does not say. It only confirms that OKX is listing a USDT-margined perpetual futures contract tracking XLV, alongside EIDO and EWZS, starting Nov 6, 2026.

Can I trade these contracts from Canada?

Canada appears on OKX's blocked-country list†. This listing does not change access for Canadian accounts on OKX's main platform.

Will the fee be the same as OKX's normal trading fee?

Not confirmed. OKX's published spot fees are 0.08% maker and 0.10% taker at VIP0††, but the announcement does not state a fee for these three perpetual contracts. Check the trading screen for the current rate.
